The Southwest Salad Kits are being due to the potential presence of undeclared fish and wheat allergens, which could pose a serious risk to those with allergies or severe sensitivities, according to a notice from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The voluntary recall, announced by Little Leaf Farms, applies to a specific lot code of its Southwest Salad Kits produced during a single run on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The issue affects fewer than 20 individual salad kits that were incorrectly assembled during the production process.

The impacted products were distributed to retail stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire between Thursday, Feb. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 22.

Retailers carrying the affected products include Ahold USA Freetown, Kilduff, Stew Leonard’s, Associated Grocers of New England, Shapiro Produce, and C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc (Hatfield).

Recalled Product Details:

  • Product Name: Southwest Salad Kit
  • Lot Number: 050011 (first six digits printed on the bottom left of the package)
  • Enjoy By Date: 03/08/2025
  • Package Size: Individual clamshell

Consumers who may have purchased these salad kits are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or immediately dispose of them. Little Leaf Farms has advised retailers to remove any products with the affected lot number from their shelves and warehouses.

The recall was initiated following a single consumer complaint regarding incorrect ingredients. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the issue. While the company states that the products are safe to eat and believes the issue to be extremely limited, it has taken this step as a precautionary measure to ensure consumer safety.

For further inquiries, consumers can contact Little Leaf Farms Consumer Relations at 844-LIL-LEAF during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon, and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. or via email at hello@littleleaffarms.com.
